Went for our “pre-start” meeting with the nurse today. Before I get into all the scintillating details, let me just take a moment to say that “our” nurse (yes, she’s mine, my name is on her) is fantastic, amazing, super-duper…I just can’t say enough. Love her…so much so that the idea of having to do everything listed below 3 times (b/c we really, really want 3 kids) doesn’t seem THAT bad! Ok, so here are the nitty-gritties.
Baker (hubs) leaves for CA on 02.08.08, will return on 02.15.08…maybe 02.16.08.
Now until 02.12.2008: BC Pills for down regulation.
Valentine’s Day – 8 AM, since hubs will be gone I’ve arranged a HOT date with Mr. Sono. As an added perk, I’ll get blood work done too. If Mr. Sono detects any cysts we’ll have to wait for them to “disappear” before proceeding.
02.16.2008: Begin “THE SHOTS”. First up, Gonal-F 150mg every night in the “tummy.”
02.17.2008: Gonal-F
02.18.2008 : Gonal-F plus appointment for bloodwork

02.26.2008: OMG…NO SHOTS! NO SHOTS! NO SHOTS! NO SHOTS!
02.27.2008: Egg Retrieval (sing music like when Darth Vader enters any room) and ICSI
This is ICSI.
02.28.2008: Begin the GRANDADDY OF ALL SHOTS, the Progesterone in my HIP/ASS! Let me explain again why I love my nurse so much.
This is the needle that MUST be used to get the Progesterone oil out of the vial.

So this first needle (below) is 1.5 inches long and is considered standard protocol for an IM injection. The second needle is 1 inch long and is what my nurse is giving me!!! Only 1 inch! Only 1 inch! I mean, I know I have some junk in the trunk but 1.5 inches was TOO MUCH! This is the shot I will have to take until the end of the first trimester. You can all start referring to my ass as “the bruise” or instead of Yak, I can be “bruiser” or what have you.

And may I just say, DAMN, that Mr. Sono is one lucky bastard.
Also, NOTE TO HUBS – If this is successful Mother’s Day will usurp Christmas as the most celebrated holiday of the year and I will expect absolutely no less than a spectacular brunch at La Duni, a splendid massage at Bliss, something with BLING, “yes, anything for you My Liege” in response to every question, a sparkling clean house courtesy of a maid, cheese, chocolate, cornbread, the most detailed car wash available, any and everything else that I have ever hinted at wanting. Seriously. (wink, wink)
