Bun Quest

For those of you ladies who know me IRL and will be attending a swim party with me this weekend, I’ll let you fight amongst yourselves to pick who gets to help me paint over all the stretch marks and spider veins with waterproof concealer. If this doesn’t happen people will be confused about why there is road map floating in the pool.

Well. It’s been awhile. I have several excuses updates.

1. Ear Infection #1 for the baby.

2. I got deathly ill with mild sepsis that was caught very early and nipped in the bud.

3. Jewels got a viral throat infection while I had my bacterial throat infection and then gave me her viral throat infection too.

4. Julia crawls/scooches…a lot. Like, right over two giant, fluffy king size pillows and off the edge of the 4 foot tall bed and onto to the floor with the siderails making breaking her fall with her face. Awful. Awful, parents we are. (She was rushed to the MD and was “no worse for the wear” and we were appropriately scolded by the pedi)

5. That very night (from #4) we cold turkey cut her off from co-sleeping. She was in her crib all night.

6. MONTHS OLD. SIX…how did this happen so quickly?

7. I weaned her. She holds her bottles all by herself. It’s sad and fantastic at the same time.

8. She sleeps through the night.

9. Ear infection #2, still had viral throat infection.

10. Treated ear infection with Augmentin. Developed thrush. Bad thrush, given Diflucan.

11. Trush causes nasty diaper rash, you know, from the soupy diarehhea it gave her.

12. Dear Hubs was delegated the task of giving her the Augmentin. He put it all (or close to all) in her eyes on accident.

13. I’m certain that the pedi has become suspicious after trips to their office 5 weeks in a row. Sigh.

But, on the bright side…Julia signed up for swim lessons and we’re going to Disney Land!!!

And, the question of all questions –

Does this make me crazy?

We’re thinking of IVF #2 this fall, like August/Septemberish. (comments welcome)

***Also, I have a super good friend that has been struggling to conceive for a while now and is on her first Clomid cycle. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

The Hubs just got back from a 2 week trip to India and the Jewels and I just got back from our solo trip to Cali to visit family. Needless to say, we’re all exhausted and on the brink, but alas we had no groceries. So off to target we went. When we took Julia out of her car seat we realized that she pooped all over herself and it was leaking all over (nasty!) so the Hubs took her into Target to change her and I went to buy her a new outfit to put her in. While I was still looking for the appropriate outfit Hubs brought her out wrapped, toga style, in her blanket. She pooped out of her diaper AGAIN, this time ruining her blanket. We bought her a new outfit and Hubs went to put it on her while I went to buy baby food etc. I see Hubs round the corner onto the aisle where I was, he and Jewels  (in her new outfit) were both all smiley and then mid step he grimaces and says, “Seriously, Jewels?” Yes, ladies and gents, she had yet a third explosive poop and soiled her new outfit! She has a natural and comedic sense of timing. Seriously.
