Ok…so I’ll, ahem, come clean. I went in on the 11th for the saline sono. All was well, including a nice, fat, juicy couture 17mm follicle. So we did what comes natural to every infertile couple…we morphed into crazed rabbits, begged God for this to be our “one in a million”, and tried to avoid jinxing “it” by working hard to not talk (or blog) about it, or spend every single second obessessing over every single twinge, cramp, bubble, or hint of feeling. Clearly this type of thing doesn’t work. I’ll put this delicately. Nature has signaled that the oven is ON.
Super Nurse from last cycle moved on from IVF and now works in the antepartum unit at the hospital where we delivered Julia. It’s a new lady now. She is not Super Nurse. I’m trying hard to give her a chance. But one can tell that she’s new and slow and doesn’t respond well to my many overt jokes. I try to make jokes, because really, getting pregnant should be fun.
I went in this morning for my Day 3 labs. I did not receive a call back with my numbers. I will be calling in the AM, because I need to make sure the light is green for me to start the BCP tomorrow.
Our “pre-start” meeting is next Thursday, the 3rd. But I’m antsy. Will you all join me in indulging in the assumption that everything will go as wonderful as last time?
Now until 09.09.09BC Pills for down regulation.
09.11.09 (oh wow, that’s ominous). Group love w/ Mr. Sona and The Vamp (blood work). If Mr. Sono detects any cysts we’ll have to wait for them to “disappear” before proceeding.

This is ICSI.

This is the needle that MUST be used to get the Progesterone oil out of the vial.

So this first needle (below) is 1.5 inches long and is considered standard protocol for an IM injection. The second needle is 1 inch long and is what my nurse is giving me!!! Only 1 inch! Only 1 inch! I mean, I know I have some junk in the trunk but 1.5 inches was TOO MUCH! This is the shot I will have to take until the end of the first trimester. You can all start referring to my ass as “the bruise” or instead of Yak, I can be “bruiser” or what have you.
If all is growing well the embryo’s should look like this -
