Bullets

Where to start? Where to start? Let’s start with a bullet list. Since my last update….

- I have been back to Labor and Delivery…twice. Once for contractions which were 1.5 – 3 minutes apart and once for EXCRUCIATING pain in my low back, hips, thighs, and uh-um- lady parts.

- Transferred care from the the young, hip, female OB to the wise old owl, male OB.

- Made one urgent trip (today) to the OB’s office with the same EXCRUCIATING  pain in my low back, hips, thighs, and uh-um-lady parts.

- Begun obsessively checking the following sites (mamabargains.com, babysteals.com, and kidsteals.com)

- Saying my prayers to make it to term, and past the 23 week mark which is next Wednesday.

- Confirmed my knowledge that Tylenol does nothing for me. Nothing.

What have y’all been doing?

This Easter I’m grateful for…

More time with my babies. I was “graduated” to modified bedrest last Thursday with permission to to church this weekend. I went to service on Friday and had BH that I didn’t think anything about. I laid down and got them to stop. But Saturday at around 4PM my back started hurting just like it did when Julia was born and I started having BH contractions. I called the midwife, naturally the one that I HATE was the one on call. I told her that I was having contractions, her response “we transferred your care to the OB, I know you won’t meet her until Tuesday, why don’t you just call back to the answering service and have her paged.’ GRRRR! Are you serious! I told her, “NO, you need to call the OB and tell her what’s going on, I’m going to L&D, I expect there to be orders when I arrive.” I was not in the mood, I was terrified. Anyway, I stayed calm on the way to L and D by telling myself that they would just give me terb or mag and it would be fine. I got all checked in at L & D and sure enough I was having contractions 3 minutes apart. I was freaked out when I learned that they cannot give you tocolytics until you are 23 weeks. They did give me indocin after explaining that it needs to work fast b/c they will not give more than 48 hours worth due to the fetal side effects. Luckily, the contractions slowed down to one an hour or so. We learned that when I have a contraction my cervix funnels to 2.1cm. So I spent all night begging God for full term babies, seriously, begging.  So now I’m home and following orders with military precision.

Drumroll Please!

We had our anatomy sono yesterday at 18 weeks 1 day.

Twin A = Is a BOY! His name is Harrison!

Twin B = Is a GIRL! Her name is Claire!

Both appear healthy! My cervix was holding strong at 2.7cm, 2.5cm with pressure. So I’m on modified bedrest until Tuesday and then I’ll go back to see how the cervical length is holding on.
