More time with my babies. I was “graduated” to modified bedrest last Thursday with permission to to church this weekend. I went to service on Friday and had BH that I didn’t think anything about. I laid down and got them to stop. But Saturday at around 4PM my back started hurting just like it did when Julia was born and I started having BH contractions. I called the midwife, naturally the one that I HATE was the one on call. I told her that I was having contractions, her response “we transferred your care to the OB, I know you won’t meet her until Tuesday, why don’t you just call back to the answering service and have her paged.’ GRRRR! Are you serious! I told her, “NO, you need to call the OB and tell her what’s going on, I’m going to L&D, I expect there to be orders when I arrive.” I was not in the mood, I was terrified. Anyway, I stayed calm on the way to L and D by telling myself that they would just give me terb or mag and it would be fine. I got all checked in at L & D and sure enough I was having contractions 3 minutes apart. I was freaked out when I learned that they cannot give you tocolytics until you are 23 weeks. They did give me indocin after explaining that it needs to work fast b/c they will not give more than 48 hours worth due to the fetal side effects. Luckily, the contractions slowed down to one an hour or so. We learned that when I have a contraction my cervix funnels to 2.1cm. So I spent all night begging God for full term babies, seriously, begging. So now I’m home and following orders with military precision.
